Calcium Hydroxide is in a powder form and is produced when quicklime is mixed or with water. When the acidity of the soil is too much, plants can't get the nutrients they need. Liming the soil decreases the acidity by increasing the pH level.

Decrease acidity
Hydrated lime also known as calcium hydroxide, should be applied by mixing thoroughly with the top-soil layers. Reduce the acidity of the soil by increasing the pH level, plants will not get nutrients from acidic soils, aluminium can be toxic in acid soils. It is important to not dig the soil whilst applying the product.
Plant diseases
Combine with copper sulfate( also available on Direct Chems) with calcium hydroxide to neutralize the acidity in the copper, it can also be effective against diseases caused by fungi -powdery mildew, downy mildew and by bacteria-fire blight, leaf spot.
Add 2 tsp of calcium hydroxide into 500ml water and spray it onto your plant
