Fertilizer

Soluble calcium sources, such as calcium chloride, supply calcium that is readily available to your plants, which is critical if your plant is exhibiting calcium shortage signs like premature bloom and bud shedding, weakening stems, or branch, stem, and other growth point dieback. For highly acidic soils: apply every year, for other types of soils every 2-3 years. Soil conditioning- 2 handfuls per sq m and fork in. For young plants- Add 1 handful (35g) per sq m into dug soil. Established plants- Sprinkle around plant and water in. 2 handfuls per sq m.

Disease Reduction

Spraying the plant with calcium chloride will increase the calcium content of fruit and reduce the problems associated with calcium deficiency. Bitter pit, an apple physiological problem, is frequently linked to inadequate calcium levels in the fruit. Calcium chloride is a protective treatment that would allow you to avoid having a bitter pit. Tomato blossom end rot and cabbage tip burns can also be treated with calcium chloride sprays. For better results, mix 30g Calcium Chloride powder with 4L of water. Make sure the spray covers the new growth completely.

Watch the tutorial HERE to learn how to apply it!

Ice Melt

Calcium chloride can be applied directly onto areas where there is snow and ice, melting it down up to 8 times faster than normal rock salt. It is effective down to around -25°C. To prevent ice from forming on paths and pavements, it can also be used as a pretreatment.
